If you’re a girl and you’re about to finish up your driving lessons, you’re probably already planning this summer’s road trips and shopping excursions. There’s only one problem though – you haven’t found the perfect car to do it all in yet.

1. Fiat 500

It’s the ultimate girl’s car: It looks good, it’s small and there’s more varieties of colour than you’ll find in your local nail salon. The Fiat 500 has burst on to the scene as the classic girl’s car over the past few years, so you can expect to turn a few heads at the traffic lights.

A new Fiat 500 starts at £10,160… but watch out, those extras and colours quickly hike the price up.

2. Ford KA

The old version does look a little bit like a baked bean can on wheels, but the Ford KA has had a bit of a facelift in recent years, meaning it’s now the perfect car for a young and stylish driver.

A new Ford KA starts from £8,795.

3. Vauxhall Adam

It might have a boy’s name, but the Vauxhall Adam is definitely not just a car for boys. Not only does the Adam boast dashing good looks, but you can also get some twinkly roof lights fitted to the interior too!

A new Vauxhall Adam starts from £11,405, but you’ll be paying more if you want the jazzy extras.

4. Volkswagen Beetle

They’ve been around for over a decade, but the Volkswagen Beetle is still going strong in the style stakes. We’re not sure whether it’s because it comes with a free flower, or because of Volkswagen’s strong design skills, but it’s definitely a car for the girls.

A second hand Beetle is usually a more affordable option for young drivers, but if you want a brand sparkly new one they start at £14,720.

5. Renault Zoe

It’s fairly new to the scene, but the Renault Zoe is the perfect car for the eco-warriors out there. The electric Zoe might not be the standard choice for a new driver, but we’re well and truly in the eco-age now, so why not?

A new Zoe starts at £13,995, but that doesn’t include battery hire at £70 a month.

6. Mini

It’s a British classic which does what it says on the tin. The Mini hasn’t changed much over the past decade, but we still think it’s one of the top choices of cars for girls. Their reputation and solid build makes them a must for the list, but they don’t come with a small price tag.

A brand new Mini Hatch starts at £13,750.

7. Citreon DS3

If you’re looking for something a little roomier, the Citreon DS3 could be the perfect option. Although not strictly just a car for girls, the fact that you can customise the colour of your roof and side mirrors is definitely a bonus for the style-conscious ladies out there.

A new Citreon DS3 has an RRP of £12,495.00… but customising those colours will soon push that up.

8. Smart fortwo Coupe

The Smart car tends to be a popular option if you don’t have time to be circling around looking for a parking space. If you’re a city slicker looking for a town run around, a Smart fortwo Coupe could be your ideal car… as long as you don’t need much room!

The new Smart fortwo Coupe starts at £10,330.00.

9. Peugeot 207 Convertible

It’s no secret that we love convertible cars here in the UK, and the Peugeot 207 is a good option if you’re into taking the top down. The 207 has been given the reputation of a bit of a girl’s car, so we thought it would be rude to leave it out of our top 10 cars for girls.

207’s are available second hand, but the price of a new one starts at £16,195.00.

10. Nissan Figaro

We’re going in with a classic for our final car of our top 10 cars for girls. If you’re thinking outside the box and would rather go for a classic than a brand new car, a little Figaro could be your dream car. They were produced in 1991 (possibly before you were born) but your Figaro will definitely earn you some cool points.

You can pick up a second hand Nissan Figaro for under £5,000, but make sure you do your homework into used car buying first.
